Shawn McCloskey is a data-driven managing consultant with over 15 years of expertise in travel behavior research. At RSG, he helps our teams deliver innovative survey methodologies to increase response rates and improve participants’ experiences. Shawn leverages emerging technologies and process automation to ensure that the data collected meet clients' modeling and forecasting needs and enhance the quality and accuracy of transportation planning.

Before joining RSG, Shawn managed several large-scale household travel surveys, including the 2017 and 2024 National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) as well as many regional and statewide projects. His expertise lies in integrating methods in questionnaire development, smartphone applications, and location-based services data to support the collection of complex data and create a comprehensive picture of travel behaviors. Shawn has successfully directed projects for various regions across several states, including Colorado, Ohio, North Carolina, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Michigan, and New Jersey.

Outside of work, Shawn enjoys spending time outdoors with his family in the mountains and beaches near his home in Maryland. He enjoys hiking, running, and golf.
