Passive mobility data analytics

The volume of data that is collected passively as we move about with our smartphones is incredible. This passively collected travel data presents great potential for key insights into individuals’ travel behavior and perceptions. However, this potential is not achieved unless the data are captured, stored, cleaned, enhanced, analyzed, and communicated efficiently.

RSG is uniquely equipped to handle these big data sets because we have extensive experience collecting travel data and building the models into which these data are often fed. Leveraging big data requires a lot of assumptions to make it resemble actual behavior, and we’re committed to sharing these assumptions to validate the data.

Passive data merged with with other sources including census data and survey data can provide powerful information to efficiently create quality travel forecasts.
