A metal cutting equipment manufacturer recently constructed a new facility that included a “showcase lab” to demonstrate the capabilities of their equipment. The client wished to be able to discuss the capabilities of the machinery with potential customers, with the equipment operating on the other side of a glass wall.

RSG worked with the project architect to design a glass wall, as well as the structure surrounding the glass wall, that would attenuate sound well enough to conduct client meetings and equipment demonstrations concurrently. During the design process, RSG used sound insulation modeling and available sound insulation data to predict the performance of proposed designs. Post-construction testing of the facility has shown that the wall meets the design goal.
