A Spatial and Statistical Modeling Framework for Transportation Data Products

A private mapping company

RSG partnered with a major mapping firm to develop a suite of proprietary models and technologies for their new line of transportation-based data products. For this, RSG needed to build several custom high-speed models that could operate efficiently at the national scale. Substantial time was allocated to handling immense intermediate data structures generated through the modeling process, making efficient use of server memory while returning results rapidly. Through software and database optimization, the spatial transport models have been adopted and integrated successfully into the client’s data product workflow. RSG’s software engineers and modelers developed a robust and scalable suite of tools allowing the client to continually modify and update their data products for years to come.
