RSG Senior Engineer, Dirk Grotenhuis, will be presenting “Building Community Consensus on Complete Streets,” at the Northern New England Planning Conference in Meredith, NH. Dirk will provide a brief overview of three complete street conversions in Northern New England that have been visioned, modeled, doubted, and then implemented to great success. RSG Director, David Saladino will also be in attendance.

RSG's Steven Gayle will be presenting, “Performance Based Planning: A Paradigm Shift for MPOs and State DOTs,” at the ITE New York Upstate Section Annual Meeting. This presentation will explain performance-based planning, its challenges and benefits, and the timeline that will be required of transportation planning practitioners.

RSG's Human Resources Coordinator and Benefits & Compensation Administrator will be attending the Vermont Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference in South Burlington, Vermont.

RSG Senior Engineer Eddie Duncan will be presenting, “Using Public Input to Develop Scientifically Sound Noise Pollution Policy for Vermont’s Rural Land Uses and Communities,” as part of Noise in Communities & Natural Areas, a free public outreach workshop, held in conjunction with NOISE-CON 2013. Noise in Communities & Natural Areas is the fourth in an ongoing series of open, free, public outreach workshops held in U.S. cities. These workshops are intended to inform and educate the public, media, regulatory officials and industry about noise control issues.

Comprised of various committee meetings and technical sessions, this unique gathering of planning and finance executives from State Departments of Transportation will examine common challenges and opportunities facing every AASHTO member agency as MAP-21 is simultaneously implemented and considered for reauthorization.

Chase Carpenter, a Senior Consultant at RSG's Chicago office, will be presenting an Introduction to Producing Beautiful Graphics in R with ggplot2 at the Chicago R Users Group August Meeting. The statistical computing language R is known for its’ visualization capabilities. The ggplot2 package, developed by Hadley Wickham, is one of the most flexible and powerful plotting packages available in R. In this presentation, Chase will provide practical and hands on advice for how to build beautiful graphics with ggplot2.

RSG's Shadde Rosenblum will be attending the 2013 ITE Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. This event will include a mix of presentation formats including hands-on practical application workshops and sessions that will focus on state-of-the practice, advancement of the profession, and emerging issues designed to benefit transportation professionals.
