Software Architect

Scott Sharkey has extensive experience delivering scalable, secure, and user-focused software solutions. He is an architect of rMove®, RSG’s location-aware market research smartphone app that supports data-driven transportation planning. Scott plays a key role in improving the performance, security, and maintainability of RSG’s software products by implementing best practices in DevOps and backend development.

Prior to joining RSG, Scott led development teams and managed software projects across industries including healthcare, finance, e-commerce, and government. He has founded and operated successful software firms and brings deep expertise in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, REST and GraphQL APIs, and cloud-based architectures. His work spans embedded systems, IoT platforms, and custom web applications.

Scott is also an educator, having taught software engineering and web development courses at The Ohio State University and Franklin University. He is a published technical reviewer and maintains an active blog focused on Python and Django development. In his spare time, Scott enjoys golf, football, and building plastic models.
