Robert Wertman leads the development of travel demand models and integrates passively collected data into modeling and planning frameworks. His work includes the collection and management of travel behavior and systems monitoring data, as well as complex planning tasks required under federal law. In addition to his technical expertise, Bobby helps agencies translate complex data into actionable strategies that support long-term planning and investment decisions.
Before joining RSG, Bobby worked as a principal transportation planner for the Madison County Council of Governments metropolitan planning organization in Indiana along with consulting work across the United States. His expertise includes household travel surveys, model architecture, model estimation, model calibration and validation, and model application. He is known for delivering projects on time and within budget by effectively coordinating multidisciplinary teams and addressing challenges proactively. Bobby has also taught introduction to urban transportation planning as an adjunct faculty member at Ball State University.
Bobby lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. He spends his time traveling for music, enjoying nature, collecting O-gauge model trains, training with his working-line German shepherd dog, and restoring his 100-year-old Arts and Crafts-style house.
