Mario Scott is a travel demand modeler with deep experience developing ridership and revenue forecasts for public transit and intercity rail projects. His expertise includes the use of the Federal Transit Administration’s Simplified Trips-on-Project Software (STOPS) model, as well as benefit-cost analysis, economic evaluation, and sketch-level forecasting. He has led modeling efforts for major US transit projects and previously supported ridership studies for ferry expansions in New York City.
At RSG, Mario supports modeling and appraisal work for clients across the country, helping agencies evaluate the future impacts of investment scenarios. His work is informed by a strong commitment to advancing forecasting practices. He currently serves on the Transportation Research Board Committee on Transportation, Economic Development, and Land Use. He previously served on the TRB Committee for Transportation Planning Analysis and Application and was an inaugural board member of the Zephyr Foundation for Advancing Travel Analysis Methods.
Mario lives in the Northeast and enjoys cycling, gardening, and baking bread during work breaks.
