Joseph Trost applies his expertise in data analytics, data visualization, and statistics to support complex travel behavior and survey research projects. At RSG, he conducts technical analyses, quality control, and weighting procedures for large-scale household travel surveys. He is proficient in R, Python, MATLAB, and C++, and has experience managing GPS-based smartphone survey methods using tools such as rMove®.
Joseph has contributed to transportation studies across North America, including projects for the Metropolitan Council, City of Calgary, Puget Sound Regional Council, and the Utah and Michigan Departments of Transportation. His work supports the design and analysis of household travel surveys and the development of dashboards that turn complex datasets into actionable insights.
He is known for his attention to detail and his ability to debug and refine analytical toolkits to ensure high data quality and usability.
