Her work supports public agencies through the development of high-quality datasets that inform transportation planning and modeling. Her technical expertise includes data cleaning, data visualization, and the application of advanced statistical and machine learning methods using tools such as R and Python.
At RSG, Ilona has led and contributed to survey efforts for transportation agencies across the United States and Canada, including the Ohio Department of Transportation, Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions, Metropolitan Council, Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and Connecticut Department of Transportation. She applies a rigorous and efficient approach to large-scale data collection, with a focus on improving representation, reducing respondent burden, and ensuring compatibility for multiyear programs. Her work spans all aspects of survey lifecycle management, from questionnaire development and data monitoring to reporting and delivery.
