Chiranjivi (Chiru) Sarma Bhamidipati brings more than 15 years of experience in multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and policy analysis. He has led projects across more than 25 states, supporting statewide and regional transportation plans, corridor studies, environmental reviews, and funding applications, contributing to over $620 million in secured federal and state grants. At RSG, he supports infrastructure planning and modeling efforts that connect community goals with policy and investment decisions.
Chiru’s expertise includes benefit-cost analysis, long-range planning, freight and passenger policy, resilience, and emerging mobility trends. His work integrates data science, modeling, and stakeholder engagement to support decisions on tolling, truck lanes, port access, and rail. A licensed Professional Engineer in California and Texas, he also holds PTOE and PTP certifications and is a regular presenter at national transportation conferences.
Based in Northern California, Chiru enjoys hiking, trail biking, visiting farmers’ markets, playing guitar, exploring music of all kinds, solving crosswords, and spending time on DIY projects. He also enjoys teaching STEM topics to his kids.
