Ali Etezady is an experienced travel demand modeler with a background in developing both activity- and trip-based models. He has served as project manager and technical lead for major modeling efforts for clients such as the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments San Diego Association of Governments, Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, Houston-Galveston Area Council, and the Georgia Department of Transportation. In these roles, he has demonstrated strength in coordinating complex projects across multiple teams, managing stakeholder needs, and delivering high-quality results.
Ali’s leadership is grounded in a strong academic foundation in quantitative analysis. He holds advanced degrees in statistical modeling and applied mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where his work focused on applying analytical methods to the study of travel behavior. He brings a rigorous, data-driven approach to his work and is highly proficient in Python, R, SQL, and other modeling tools.
Outside of work, Ali enjoys spending time with his two daughters, exploring Ann Arbor by bike, and diving into fantasy novels when he can find a quiet moment.
