Jonelle Hanson, AICP

Director

Jonelle Hanson is an experienced transportation planner and project leader who connects innovative ideas with action. She has over 12 years of experience with a focus on strategic mobility planning and long-range transportation planning. Jonelle's primary interest is in applying modeling and mapping tools to evaluate transportation and land-use changes. To facilitate the deployment of emerging mobility modes, Jonelle also researches how to adapt clients' planning processes to new technologies.

Prior to joining RSG, Jonelle worked for Systematica, where she provided transportation planning, data visualization, traffic modeling, spatial analysis, and transportation research consulting services. Jonelle has also worked as a transportation planner in both the public and private sectors. She has worked on travel demand models, facilitated public workshops, and advised on changing travel behaviors. Jonelle's unique and multifaceted perspectives help clients plan for and adapt to rapidly changing traveler behaviors.

Jonelle recently completed an Executive MBA with the University of Mannheim and ESSEC Business School. As part of her studies, she researched the manufacturing of landing infrastructure capable of sending and receiving packages by drone, or Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS). To plan for wider UAS deployment, Jonelle has also worked closely with drone start-up companies and cities on use cases to bring UAS to the market.
