John Hinckley, QEP

John leads RSG’s air quality permitting practice, and is an expert in emissions estimation, air quality modeling, permit application preparation, emission control technology assessment, and NEPA environmental assessment for stationary and mobile sources of air pollution. He has completed hundreds of air quality studies from Maine to Alaska for institutional, renewable energy, power generation, forest products, aggregate, mining, ski area, manufacturing, and other clientele. He has also conducted mobile source air quality studies for state DOTs, MPOs, and municipalities.

John is certified as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) through the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice (IPEP) in the field of air pollution control and is an active member of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA). He regularly speaks at local, regional, and national conferences on the subject of emissions control and air quality permitting and has provided expert witness testimony for judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings.

Before joining RSG in 1998, John developed computer forecasting models for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

While away from work, John enjoys time with his family, mountain biking, coaching lacrosse, watching Washington Redskins football, and participating in church and mentoring activities. And last, but not least, John is a big fan of dachshunds, especially his dog Stretch.
