Tennessee Statewide Travel Model
Tennessee Department of Transportation
RSG is responsible for developing a new statewide model for Tennessee as part of a team led by RPM to support the state’s long range plan update. The new model includes an entirely new network and zone system with three times the geographic detail of the original model and advanced components, including destination choice models and time of day assignments. The passenger models are being estimated from a combination of MPO and National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) data. Truck models are being estimated using GPS data from the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) for the version 2 model, and preliminary data work is being conducted to support commodity flow and rail modeling in the subsequent version 3 model.
